Default What's up with my A4?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.

I have just replaced the wiper motor and transmission on my B7 A4. In order to do this I had to move the CPU, although I did not disconnect it, nor did I disconnect the battery.

The wipers now work fine, but the car will not start. Prior to my pulling and shoving the CPU around to get the wiper transmission out and back into the car, the car ran like a top. It did take me 10 days to finish the job as I broke the old transmission and had to wait for a new one to arrive. Otherwise the job went off without a hitch that I am aware of.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or something similar? Any ideas?

Thanks

You should not have had to move ecm, just remove the cover plastic for the e box.

My question would be during your pulling did you pull off a ground or something. There are atleast one i can remember in there

Hi Audi Tek, the transmission had seized in such a way that the wipers were half way through their cycle. As a result, there was no play in the transmission and moving the ecm was the only way to get the wiper motor and transmission out of the car. Although I did unscrew the box from the body and undo the clip that holds the ecm in place, I did not place any strain on the cables. I realise that something may have popped off.

All the dashboard lights come on when I turn the ignition on, the car turns over, but there is hum (which I assumed to be the petrol pump) and no indication that fuel is getting to the engine.
