Widest tires for 18x8 wheels?

Widest tires for 18x8 wheels?

I have some 18x8 35mm offset wheels i will be putting on the car and lowering springs that will drop it 1.4 inches. Will 255/35/18 fit front and back with no problems or do i need to go with 245/40/18?

My B7 is a 2008 2.0t S-line FWD.

you should run a 235-40-18. Any more will mess up your speedo even if you can fit them. 255 is really pushing it and doubtful.
