The manual says not to mix weights, but I have no idea if it causes any damage. Just find out what's in the car and buy a bottle of the same weight. The synthetic Gastro 5w40 is only 6 to 7 dollars a quart. For that price, to me, it's not worth having to wonder if you might mess up the engine.
