Hey guys,

I've purchased the 2009 A4 Frontrak and in the arm rest compartment, inside there's aux in. Is that for ipods or mp3 players only? It seems that the ipod connectivity is optional and only in the glove box... Can someone confirm this, also what cable do I need?

You can use an iPod or an MP3 player if you have a 3.5mm cable like this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2. Its just that with iPod integration you can charge your iPod and also browse through it using the MMI, instead of manually.

 

Would you happen to have an opinion on whether iPod connectivity via usb for control through the MMI would be possible aftermarket?

 

I wouldn't mind that. Any idea on how much that will cost?

 

I certainly do not.. if possible it should not be costly. My concern is if it can be done.

 

I dont think it can be done that is what the dealer told me so take it with a grain of salt.

 

I was under the impression that it could be done. If not through your dealer, most likely through a shop that's good with A/V mods.

 

That's the kind of answer I was looking for!
