2012 S-Line Dangerous Controls Configuration
Had the opportunity to recently drive a 2012 S-Line A4 as a loaner while my 2010 A4 was being serviced.
Comparing the configuration of the Infotainment Controls on the 2012 S-Line which are mostly around the gear shift lever vs. my non-S-Line 2010 where the controls are mostly on the dash itself.
My experience is that it is easier to keep eyes on the road when using the controls on my 2010 A4 where there is a peripheral vision of sorts. While on the 2012 S4, it feels like texting while driving since you have to look much further "down"..... may only be 3 more seconds, but as we all know, that's all it takes for bad things to happen.
Just an observation and wondering if anyone else made the same observation.

I have a 2011 A4-S-Line. I definitely like the controls down below the shifter. It took a few drives to get used to, but now I don't have to look at all. I can find everything by touch. I think this was the goal when they designed it.

Correct but safety first. My 2009 P+ NAV was same as 2012 S-line.
New MMI voice command controls I am not used to yet. No longer can I save radio station name. Much better NAV and phone voice control though.
Audi is pretty simple compared to Ford.
