A4 TDI to the States? When? Mileage on non TDI?
I have a 95 S6 and 91 CQ and really want a TDI with AWD. BMW just rolled out the 3 series TDI with AWD (Kudos to them). Audi keeps talking about A4 TDI with Quattro for the States and was supposed to launch in 6-8 months. My dealer told me today that it might be 1.5 to 2 years now with delays? What have you heard? If I get a 2.0 gas A4 with a manual what type of MPG can I expect with Quattro? Are there any other options for TDI and AWD in America?

Audi/VW A3/Golf TDI is arriving in a couple months. FWD/DSG only.
Currently, Audi's only AWD TDI models are: Q5, A6, A7, A8. As far as we know, there is no A4 TDI slated for the States. Even if there was, it would likely be FWD only. No stick-shifted TDIs are slated for the States. Ever. (As far as we know).
The A6 TDI is hard to beat. It's a fantastic car with a LOT of pull.
An A4 2.0T AWD should put you in the 25-28 MPG range. Really depends on how you drive. If you really want a TDI, order your A3 TDI now. You'll sacrifice the AWD, but the new A3 is pretty awesome. I've seen it first-hand. Size is about that of a B5 A4. Fit and finish is just as good as the new A4/A6. The new technology will include the new MMI, which is leaps and bounds over current MMI as far as available features. The engine is new, the DSG trans is optimized. It's worth the wait. It makes the last A3 seem like a joke in comparison.
Good luck!
