I dropped off my car at mckenna audi that when i turn ignition car starts without pressing on the brake and light symbol popping up in cluster. I was advised that my car needs abs control module and parts cost $2k labor $800 extra and that's what there diagnostic machine tells them. Can I still drive my car without fixing it and let that light pops out n not compromise my brakes.
Brakes fine when I drive it. Plus advise...

 

I drove my A6 without the ABS module installed with no issues, other than the electronic stability and anti-lock braking was compromised. If you can find a good indie mechanic, I suggest sending the ABS to modulemasters for rebuild. Rebuild and wrenching should be under a grand, and probably closer to $500. Good luck.
