I own a 2014 Audi A4 in january 2014. I just met with an accident. I hit a deer on a highway and my car from and driver side are fully damaged. My driver side and door is jammed. I was not met with an accident before, i am not sure how to proceed further.. if anyone can give me some suggestions on what my options are, it will be really really helpful..

 

call your insurance company. they'll either have you drop it off at a body shop and send an adjuster out, or send one to you, and then you can move forward with the repair.

 

Can i request the insurance company for total the car?

 

You can't, no (it kind of creates a hazard for the insurance companies if they let customers dictate how to operate).

They will evaluate the damage, come up with a repair estimate, and that will determine if they will total out the car. Generally, if damages exceed 1/2 the value of the car, it will be totaled.
