Default Audi Care: Does not add up.

Hi, I'm a new owner, got my A4 a few months ago. Recently had the first complimentary maintenance visit. I looked at the Audi Care option, but for MSRP $800, it doesn't add up. My dealer's prices, when the 4 visits are totaled is $770. This makes no sense, since Audi advertises AC to be up to 34% off the total prices of the 4 maintenance visits. I'd have been happy with 10-15% off, but this is bizarre. Anyone else notice this?

Since we're on the subject of the maintenance, I looked at the details of each visit, and they seem no more than glorified oil changes. For $125 my dealer will change the oil, rotate the tires, reset the reminder, and inspect and lubricate this and that. At 15,000 miles, for $190, they'll also change the cabin filter and inspect a couple of extra things. Is the Audi maintenance that specialized that it's so expensive? A full synthetic oil change can be had pretty much anywhere else around town for $60-70.

Your mainly paying for specialized techs to work on your car v 16- 100 yr old people who just want a check(instant oil change place). Ask me how I know, I used to manage jiffy lube, know I work at a dealership.

yeah i think it's audi's way of encouraging maintenance at the dealership during the warranty.

If u could go back to when u bought the car would u still do it? I was researching a little bit on the Care package and I didnt really see a big difference if I didnt get it. Trying to see the Pros/Cons.

of course i would. re-check your math because the audicare maintenance package pays for itself after a few visits. my vw never had such a package and i paid way more to maintain it over 4 years than the audicare package cost.

if adds up for me - my logic in getting it even if it cost the same ?
1) I don't do service - that's for mechanics
2) don't want to bother with finding service
3) just drop it off and get a loaner and all updates campaigns
4) peace of mind that all the maint is registered with audi for ANY warranty questions

let me put it this way. i had a single major scheduled maintenance for the golf that cost as much as the whole audi care package cost.

One major service.... usually the 35k will by itself the price of the entire package.

Depends on year / engine type.... but typically 35k and 55k are major services

Cheap oil filters from a local shop DO NOT function the same as Audi branded stuff

I got the audicare with my 2011 A6. I thought I was getting a great deal, but as long as I am not losing money, I am good.

How come audicare does not include rotating tires? That's pretty f'd up.
