Hello all, I've stumbled upon a cracking deal on an a4 avant s-line black edition but the first thing I want to do is change the stock 19" wheels for some versatile 17" wheels that are cheaper to replace tyres.

What are my options?

Stock are 255/35r19 - would 235/45r17 fit?

I not what do I need to look for?

 

that would be the correct size, double check that 17's will clear the brakes. It will probably be pretty easy to find someone to trade wheels with, since most people go bigger.

I thought as much, just needed to find out which would fit. I'm not in a rush for this as I haven't even got the car yet, but I wanted to move quickly and some wheels have popped up in Chepstow (where I work) which would be ideal.

 

Thanks for the offer but I'm not interested in trade - I want to keep the wheels for when I sell as it's part of the pack.

 

Per TireRack.com, the optimal 17" tire and wheel size for a 2011 A4 Avant S-Line is 245/45 R17 wrapped around a set of 17x8.0 wheels; the 235/45 R17 are a bit short and would induce speedometer error (speedometer would read a bit high).
