Wow, I am glad they didn't accept my $45 bid....I would hate to have those "solid stainless" tips start rusting....at least you can trust the dealer....hmmm...most of the time.

Yeah, it's prety nasty. Check out the pic. Now, keep in mind it just snowed here, so the tips are dirty from the salt. The part that's not rusted looks good, lol. But check out the rust- UNACCEPTABLE. Makes me angry.

What kind or recourse do you have through Ebay? Those are obviously not stainless and they seller should have to refund you everything as well as change their add!! I would push this pretty hard if for nothing else the principal of it...and maybe saving a fellow auto enthusiast(or hundreds of them) the trouble.

eBay is rather vague with its policies. Odds are it would take more time and energy to even get them to respond, let alone actually do anything about it. I have contacted the seller about this and am awaiting a response from him. I'll keep you posted on the outcome (which I'm sure will NOT be to my satisfaction).

For your entertainment, here is the eBay link:

You'll notice in the item description, it clearly states that these tips will NOT oxidize over the winter. LOL- riiiiiiiiight.

Just heard back from my eBay seller. I told him that in lieu of getting eBay involved, I will accept either 1.) full refund or 2.) shipped a new set of actual stainless steel tips. He replied saying that he was going to send the picture I sent him to his supplier. Not sure what that means for me or my request, but it's something. I'll keep you posted as I know more.

Just installed the exhaust tips, bought from audi.bernardiparts.com. They look awesome, however, mine are not bolted on, or permanently stuck. Like "Poppy" said:
The tips are beautiful and, like Audi40 says, very easy to install....but once they are on, they ARE NOT coming off, so carefull alignment is critical.
If I pull hard enough on mine, they eventually come off. Look great though.

Glad you like your tips. When I pull on mine, the little prongs seem to just 'bite" harder. Of course if I really need to get them off, I could twist mine and pull but it would really scar up the pipes.
