Talking Digital Gauges on Screen

Hi everybody,

This is the last thing I installed on my 2.0T Quattro MT, Digital Gauges on the Screen, all customizable.

Hope you like it.

All the best.

Looks cool and nice job . Can you describe just what SW and device you used to make this happen. I have been looking at Torquepro as a gauge supplement but it cannot be integrated into the MMI. So what did you use and how did you install it. Thanks

Hi there,

I've installed an aftermarket car DVD stereo player with dual system Wince/Android. It is plug and play. You just add the DVD player into the glove compartment. It also comes with a larger screen. It displays all OEM features. Nothing is altered. Certainly you need to have some knowledge to take out the dashboard and main AC command, but it is as easy as it gets.

To get the info from the CPU you need a OBD2 ELM327 wifi scanner. You just plug it in and get the wifi signal. Bluetooth does not work under Android. You can only use bluetooth to use your phone, in case you do not have the original from Audi.

It also comes with IGO GPS. But with Android you can use Google Maps easily. You can also watch TV buying the antenna.

Under Android you may find some flaws on the wheel command when wanting to change music tracks. It may not show up on the center display. You can do it manually pushing the buttons on the center dash.

But having Digital Gauges on the main Screen is something I am willing to deal with.

I got it from China. Here is what I bought http://www.aliexpress.com/item/In-Da...710150862.html. Not from this supplier but it is the same device.

It is worth every dollar I spent on it.

Hope I could help.

All the best.

Marcelo

I got it from China at AliExpress.com - Online Shopping for Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Toys & Sports, Automobiles from China.. It cost me something around USD 600/700.- if I remember correctly.

Thanks as we were talking over on another car site wondering if we can put Gauge info on our nav. screens. Now we can use the ELM BT and a android tablet using Torque Pro as the Gauge SW. I was wondering if there was a way to somehow put it on an OEM Nav. system. Thanks

That is another way to go, sure. I do not think you can put it on an OEM system unless Audi releases an update to install Android.
