Electric parking brake with MT?
So I know with the AT you can apply the parking brake on a hill and it will disengage when you hit the accelerator but why does it not do something similar with the MT? I recently test drove one and it had the brake on but it stayed locked when I tried to move. The least it could do it release when the clutch is disengaged. Anybody have experience with this that could set me straight on how this works with the MT?
It does work... but not from a start up. Means once you manually turn off the Parking brake, you can apply it again (without shutting down engine) and it will auto-release when you start up again. Great for hills or long lights.
Works in and out of Reverse too. Give it a try.

On the UK A4's, this is an optional extra called Audi Hill Hold Assist I think. I have it on mine. With this option you get an extra button to the back half of the normal hand/parking brake switch, with an (A) symbol. If I press the (A) button after starting the car up, whenever I come to a stop, the brake automatically engages, and automatically disengages when there is enough acceleration to take the car forward without it rolling back.
