I'm also looking for the grill without the license plate holder, but I can't find any on ebay. Would any of the Cali guys like to trade/sell their grill without the plate holder to me?

I think its one thing to drive around without a front license plate when you have a place to mount it, but its totally another to drive around without a license plate when you don't have a place to mount it. Since this is the way it came from the dealer/manufacturer.

It doesn't make sense for the consumer to pay fines for not having a front license plate when the manufacturer did not provide a space for the front license plate.
It would make sence if this was true but the do harass you and I have gotten a ticket for not having a front plate on my 93 Camaro. Gm never made a bracket but by law you need one regardless. I ended up with a ticket and having to screw bolts into my front bumber.

Default front license plate bracket

I have an '09 A4 convertible which has the front bracket WITHOUT the license plate holder. I live in VA where a front plate is required. I know those in states where a front plate is not required prefer the bracket without the license plate mount. Is anyone interested in trading?

I called the dealer and gave them the VIN and they said it was "stone" grey, not the "platinum" grey. Email is twupton@msn.com if anyone is interested.
Thanks!
Tom

I have the front license plate holder if anyone wants to buy it or if you want to trade for the blank delete plate with the crome bars to cover the euro plate holder. I took it off and it does look better w/o the us plate holder but I think having the euro plate holder leaves a little more to be desired

I got the car in july so it has been used for a month but still brand new

A subject near and dear to my heart. When I first starting looking for cars this one a4 I drove had a front plate bracket (but PA doesn't use front plates) and I mentioned how bad it looked. Wouldn't you know, when I went back for a second test drive it had the cleaner delete cover with the chrome bars. Smart salesman... I eventually bought the car.

You'll still get a ticket, if the cop feels like taking the time and effort to pull you over. At least, this was the case for my friend who was recently pulled over after purchasing a Mercedes from a dealership. There was no place to hang a front license plate, so he disregarded doing so.
However, it is the law in CA. I'm from Arizona and don't particularly care for front license plates, but plan on putting a MD (euro style) front plate on my Audi when it gets here, since we're required to have them on here as well.

It really does depend on the cop, too. I've got a friend with a Lexus that doesn't have the front plate, and he was pulled over for front window tint. He got a fix-it-ticket for the tint, and not a word about the plate.
