Just picked up my 2009 2.0T Prestige
Just took delivery and so far its incredible! Black with black leather and dark walnut trim. Prestige with navigation package and 3m paint protection. The only problem so far is that the bluetooth will not auto pair with my LG voyager. There must be some setting somewhere that I have wrong. Going next week for tints. This replaced my 02 A4 3.0l and this seems to have alot more power. The HP is basically the same, but there is alot more torque with the turbo!! Great car!!
Did you get Drive Select? To me this option alone makes the car stand above the BMW and Mercedes.....without it, handling isn't all that great. I'm due to take delivery of mine with Drive Select in a couple weeks, but I'm having second thoughts of holding out for the S4 next year.
No drive select. The car is for my wife and gets less than 500 miles a month put on it. For the basic driver the drive select is very complicated and unnecessary. Even the salesman at Audi ( who I have purchased my last 4 A4's from) said the technology is not perfected and at this point was not a wise use of money. He actually recommended just getting the sports package if I wanted the handling adjustment, but being that I live in NE and did not want to be bothered with seasonal tire changes I opted not to get it. If we spent alot more time driving in it, I may have thought about the drive select. The handling is fantastic and I have not had any problems with it. It responds/handles alot better than my 02 A4 3.0l that I just sold.
the 2009 is the biggest single improvement Audi has made since Quattro.
your 2002 3.0 even brand new w/ 1 mile on it won't compare to it.
i don't agree w/ the price tag. but i'm definately a believer. the headlight alone get alot of attention

hey can you guys tell me one thing ... why does the navigation package cost 2500?
i just can justify it for myself because you can get the best navi for what? like 500$? and i bet that it's better than the one built in + you can upgrade, take it out and use in other cars etc.
I'm thinking of getting a loaded b9 except for the navi.
thoughts ?
and one more thing...
my wife prefers a automatic (say triptronic) although she has had a stick all her life (which i would prefer)
do you think that the manual mode in triptronic will work for me (I'm asking because I have never driven in a car with triptronic in my life - just stick or full auto.
Thanks!

I stayed away from the nav package, well overpriced. I guess with the reverse camera and all they feel they can charge that much. I'm getting around without it just fine as I have for many many years before. The sport suspension is a must though, taking the corners soooo smooooooth.
Regarding tip, I'm in 1000 mile break in period, no high rpm's, speed, etc. But I have to admit I have tipped it. The levers are marked - for downshift and + for upshift and are conveniently located on the back of the steering wheel so you can use your left (-) or right (+) index or any finger for that matter to engage the manual feature. Say if you're in D5 (drive 5th in auto) and you need to pass some old snow bird (you can relate if in AZ): tap the - once, you drop down into M4 (manual 4th) and can continue into M3 and so forth building up the rpm of the beast getting that extra boost. You can follow by upshifting (++) when out of the situation you were in recovering the rpm to normal but eventually the computer defaults back into D (drive) mode. It is fun and can't wait to take full advantage/abuse it!!!
