Long shot, but: '09 A4 crankshaft journal sizes?
Hello folks!
I realize this is a long shot, but I'm running out of options!
I work at a machine shop that deals with lots of imports, and we had a customer bring in a hurt '09 CAEB crank. All 4 rod bearings were toast. There are currently zero bearings available, OEM or aftermarket, that exist in an undersize, so that means it's either replace the crank or grind, weld and grind again back to standard. Money-wise, the grind/weld/grind thing is what's probably going to happen.
BUT: I can't seem to find the journal sizes anywhere. We checked with the local VW customer (he gave us VW's version of their engine code) and they either can't find or are unwilling to give us the journal dimensions.
We checked Mahle/Clevite, King, Glyco, and ACL, they don't even have listings for this year yet. King says they're working on some, but they won't be available until the springtime.
Does anybody have any access to this information?
