Default Looking at a B8

Hey all. I have a 2006 A4 Sedan (active over in the B7 forum) and I'm looking at a possible upgrade to a 2010 A4 Avant. It's a 2.0TFSI with quattro and has about 68k miles on it.

What should I look out for? I know a little about the timing chain tensioner issue. It sounds like this one would have the old part and I'd maybe need to get it changed? How involved/expensive is that? Anything else I should look really closely at?

It looks to be in really good shape with MMI/BT (no nav), tiptronic, quattro, heated seats (not all cars down here in the South came with that). It's listed at a "no-haggle" price of around $16k which seems reasonable to me, but I've not seen a lot of them out there to compare.

Thanks in advance!

PS - I know some also consume oil (same with the B7s), but there's not really a way to know that from a pre-purchase inspection that I know of.

If it has been dealer serviced, they may share if any oil consumption work was done. Otherwise, if the seller is motivated, top of the oil and drive it 100-200 miles. If it is a bad burner, that will show up by the oil being down 1-3 bars in a short distance.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not sure they'll let me drive it that far, but they do offer a 2 day, 200 mile return. I looked at the Carfax and it lists every 10k mile service interval done by Audi dealerships, but no listing of any oil consumption-related stuff. Only repairs other than regular service were "Engine/powertrain computer/module checked" and the fuel injectors and intake manifold gasket were replaced. No repairs outside of dealerships listed. It actually seems to have a relatively quiet history so far. Definitely a lot less repairs than I've had to put into my B7.

I've seen a few things about Audi offering a test/repair extension for up to 8 yrs/80k miles on the oil issue. Anyone know anything about that? Is it extended to any owner? Just original owner? I know they did this with the cam follower on the B7s and took it up to 10 yrs/120k miles, but for that, I got a letter.
