I picked up a 2014 A4 Avant 2.0 TDI 150bhp last week and I love it.

The one thing I haven't been able to figure out is the engine stop/start. According to the manual you have to turn on the engine stop/start by pushing the button on the dash, you have to have the engine up to the right temperature (what this is I don't know) and the parking sensor system has to be off. I've done all these things but when I stop, put the gear stick in neutral and take my foot off the pedals, the engine idles but never turns off.

My wife has an Opel Corsa with engine stop/start that isn't this pernickety and works every time.

Am I doing something wrong, please help!!
