I have an 2010 a4 quattro manual,and I'm in the San Fran bay area. I just moved from Florida,and it seems that in CA they don't believe in 93 octane. I have the APR ECU flash installed,and I'm wondering if running 91 octane is gunna give me problems while running the 93 program. Would octane booster be a good option? If so what brand ? Thanks fellas ...

 

i wouldn't worry about it. the computer is smart enough to turn back the timing a bit. the octane boosters in the parts stores are snake oil and some even harm the catalytic converter. when they say one bottle can raise the octane by one point they don't mean from 91 to 92. they mean 91 to 91.1. you'd have to add a few bottles to get it to 93.

 

I would NOT put in any octane booster or run a lesser grade of gas! And the APR website says not to run any octane then the MINUMUM rating of the program. It's up to you but I would just find the closest place with 93.
