So I bought a used 09 A4, and I am experiencing the oil consumption issues. I took it to Barrier Audi and even though the car has 66K miles they did the first oil TSB, and they paid for by audi. (The PCV, gasket and the crankshaft gasket) so I drove the car about 100 miles and it seems to still be using oil so I took the host off that goes from the pcv to the intake area and put my finger in it and it still has oil in it, is this common? I thought the new revision of the oil separator/pcv was supposed to stop that? I dont think it's the valve issue that is also reported because of the amount of oil I found in the hose. I attached a photo of what they installed it looks like an older version but I cant tell anyone chime in?

 

They preformed step one of the consumption check. They should have filled up your oil prior to having you drive another 800-1000 miles and checking oil consumption. Sounds like you will need the piston & ring replacement.
