Pistons and conrods Replacement on A4 2012 1.8T
I'm new to this forum and need some advise on my Audi A4, it's a 2012 1.8T (B8) and has 192 391km's on the clock. I've noticed some oil splatter on the floor at startup. Also noticed that I have been topping up at least a litre oil ever 6 weeks / 2000km's over the last 6 months. I chatted to my Audi mechanic and he mentions that pistons and conrods need replacement which could cost in the region of $3500
Is it worth getting this fixed or is it more viable to put the $3500 towards a new/used Audi?
thanks in advance for any advise.

USA A4s 2009-2011 and some 2012 2.0Ts had "defective" rings and oil blowby. I am currently going through a quart every 300-400 miles (500-660 km) with 127k miles on the odometer. Search for Technical Service Bulletins that might cover it. They did not sell the 1.8T here except in VWs. Maybe look at some of the VW forums.
