My '10 A4 has 2 slots for SD cards.
I purchased a package of 2 8GB SDHC SanDisk SD cards on sale at Costco.
I think I read somewhere that these cards cannot be read by Audi... it can't handle HD cards, so 4GB non-HD cards is the max.
Is this true?
Should I return the 8GB SD cards?

i've heard the earlier 2010 models cant read them or need a firmware flash.

i don't have nav on mine so i only have 1 sd slot, but i have tried an 8gb on mine and it works fine.

 

I've not yet taken delivery of my 2010 S-Line, but I borrowed a 2010 P+ owner's manual from the dealer to get a head start, and it states that SD cards up to 32GB formatted in FAT or FAT32 are supported.

 

I have a 16gb formatted in Fat32 thats giving me problems. Its DRM'ing me on files that I can play on the computer (I've purchased them) and it's not showing all the files.

Can anyone help?

 

if they are say .wma files the licenses stay with the computer.

you could maybe play them on some portables like say a sandisk or zune plays for sure device by transferring the license to the portable through some program, but its not going to work with an SD card since that is just a raw data card.

 

You should be ok with the 8gb cards. The 4gb limitations were through 2007 or 2008.

 

cannot see these limitation with my current model of audi s4 purchased a few months back. you should try with 8gb version

 

I figured it out. Thanks for your help.

My problem was that I had all my songs on one giant list. Once I categorized them in folders that had up to 50 songs, all the songs were there.

I have over 8gb on the same 16gb card....and I keep adding songs here and there.

I am luvin life cuz that satellite radio is terrible (with the exception of 4-5 stations).
