What was Audi thinking with the Speedo??
I think it is very stange that Audi decided to give us a 180 MPH speedometer that only uses 1/4 of the dial for 0 MPH to 60 MPH. I realized today that we are only using a very small amont of the dial....good grief, we have to do 120 MPH to use only half the dial. Any ideas why??
Do you have an electronic limit set on cars in the US? All B8 A4s have 180mph on the speedo but its the same speedo used in all the current models. The 3.2 petrol is limited here to 155mph but this can be removed and will go faster. Most cars have 30-40 more on the clock than they can actually do and the current A4s will all do 130plus so the 180 figure is not that high to be honest.
Its most probably down to using the same parts in all cars to make it cheaper to produce.
