Default 1995 Audi 90 Have Speedo/No odometer or trip

New to the Audi world. I just came into ownership of a 1995 Audi 90 and the Odometer and tripmeter quit working at just under 169,000. I have done only a little research on this issue and found it not uncommon. I am assuming based on the year that it is a mechanical operated cluster, not electronic? Considering that the concern may be in the gears in the cluster at this time?

I want to dig into this thing but am curious on how to remove it. Haven't looked hard yet on how to do it. Just curious on a step by step efficient procedure to remove it would be helpful and save me some time. Go in from dashboard, underneath, what has to be removed to get to it, etc.?

Looking for any links to quality replacement parts based on postive experience also. There's a few out there with good pitches.

Have other "issues" projects for this car, all reasonable, so lot's of potential questions to follow.
Thanks for your consideration
