Default What to do with Brake Pad sensor cable??

I'm installing Hawk HPS pads tomorrow and they don't come with a brake pad sensor. Am I going to get an annoying light go off on my dash if I leave it disconnected?

Im not sure exactly how the sensor connects but I'm told it's real simple. Is there an official "cap" for the cable connector if you're not using it, or can I get away with just wrapping it in tape or something similar to preventit from getting dirty, wet, etc?

Go to the dealer and buy the sensor.

Cut the sensor off of the old pads. Plug it in and tape it off somewhere.

no, and no.... you cut the end off the connector and solder the two ends together

Default thanks for the help guys

i should have mentioned that i dont want to cut the sensor. my pads are still good so im gonna keep them for later use. just upgrading my fronts for some upcoming track days.

im doing it now so we'll see what happens when i just leave it floating with no connection.

pads bedded in and cooling...

turns out there is an annoying warming that comes up if you leave the cable open like that. i'll consider the soldering solution. thanks.

maybe i'll be able to clear it with the Torque app.

Is the soldering idea a common solution??
