Audi A4 2016 - parking break after ignition off
Hi there,
I parked up today on a unoticeable incline and proceeded to do my shopping. I came out, only to be greeted with my A4 wedged against a BMW X5 due to the hand break not being engaged. My question is as follows - With the 2016 A4's, I was under the impression that the parking break was meant to engage itself automatically once the ignition is off. Is this not the case?
Any responses/personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

This info is from the Audiworld forum:
"That's because there is two ways to turn off your engine.
While in D (drive), if you press P (park) then turn off your engine, the parking brake is not applied.
While in D (drive), if you turn off your engine without pressing P first, the parking brakes will be automatically applied.
I usually always stop my engine this way when I park in my garage, when I come to a stop while my foot is on the brake, I push the engine stop button without pressing P first."
