BMW is wayy better than Audi.
avaliable now is the 328xi and 335xi both in coupe and sedan, as well as 535xi and i think there is a 550xi does the a6 come in a quattro?
I will have to say that as of right now, Audi definately has BMW. Not only on looks, but on overall quality. I decided to buy an 08' BMW 238i and in october, the tie rod end on the left side broke! how the hell does this happen? tie rod ends are something you need to replace 20 years down the road, not six months after the car is bought. (I have to admit to tracking the car a couple of times, but seriously?) don't get me wrong, in the
90's BMW made some quality, and stylish cars, whereas Audi's looked like granny cars, before 95. but after having (then giving back) the BMW, I would choose audi over it anyday. so i bought a modest A4, and I love it.

and yes most a6's come with quattro!
edit: i think quattro only came standard in the a6 with the 4.2 and the s6...

i'm new here... but im switching over from a bmw owner to an audi as we speak.
i had a 1993 318is
granted its one of the slowest bmws made, but i must say for the 1990's time period I think bmw's design blew audis out of the water BUT only matching up the bmw coupe to an audi sedan. the a4 is a much nicer car than any of the 3's that were produced in the 90's early 00's. Now however I must say both cars give eachother a good run for their money. Th eonly reason i am switching to an audi is because of the quattro. I cannot afford a decent xi bmw at the moment.
The other factor I think bmw is superior in is the drive and the "mechanics" of driving the car. The clutch on a bmw is way more responsive than the giant stroke any a4's have, and imo, produces a bit more low end torque. i have driven 325's and 330's and they all feel the same in that category compared to the 1.8t and 2.8
HOWEVER i must say this.... recently my friends dad was looking for a new top end sports car. He drove the new m3 and loved every second of it...but the look wasn't capturing enough. they went to an audi dealer and there was a brand new 0 miles s5 in the floor and he purchased it on the spot without even driving it
anyway, tahts my useless information

Nobody cars to hear what you have to say about BMW's.... lets see your 318is run next to a 1993 Audi CS 90....
The numbers speak for themselves...
"BMW brand sales fell 26.2% in November from the same month a year ago, said the firm, while sales of its UK-based Mini subsidiary declined 20.8%." BBC.com
"The global economic crisis may have placed many carmakers on the proverbial knife's edge in regards to their financials, but German luxury marque Audi is expecting to have another year of record growth. Sales of Audi models are expected to exceed one million units this year, and from this it would appear that Audi's goal of selling 1.5 million vehicles by 2015 is well in reach." MotorAuthority.com

One word...QUATTRO...'nuf said.
Lets face it, when you get kicked out of rally racing because you're too good and win too much, you know you're good. Look it up. Gotta hand it to BMW for keeping up with Audi, but thats all they do is "keep up".

Was following the other thead where the CEL is coming up in the 2008 A4
(the carbon residue build up thing), and the dealers have no clue.
Will lead to recalls?
That brings to mind, a good reliablity metric could be the recalls in the last
few years from either brands. I have heard of some recall by VW in recent
years. But donno about Audi/BMW.
Long timers, any info?
