Default Newbie - Air Con Help!

Hi,
Having some issues - can't find anybody else here with the same problems - i just got my air-con re-gassed (by a pro) but the ECON button still stays on - asked an Audi 'head' from home he said to check to ensure the connectors on the compressor are corroded - checked this these are fine.
When i got the system re-gassed (emptied before-hand) while emptying the system something which looked like an oil with speckles of rusty water came out - guy filling it said that didnt look good - has anyone had anything similar like this happen?
Also someone mentioned to me that it may be the control panel in the dash that is faulty.....

Any help / tips / pointers???

Sorry forgot to add car is 2003 B6 1.9TDI 130BHP

Cheers
