I am considering adding functional carbon fiber hood vents to my new 2019 Audi RS5 to give it more of an aggressive look. One concern that has been raised is the potential damage to the engine by the water exposure during rain and washing. I have sought other opinions and some have said it will NOT cause any issues and some have said there may be long term problems due to exposure. I have noticed that Audi has designed channels in the engine bay with plastic and rubber to keep water and dirt out of the engine area. So I am looking for expert opinions to advise me if I should put in functional hood vents on my new car.
