Default 1994 Audi 100 SC

Good morning,

I've had this 100 since 1996 and I absolutely love it, it's been bullet proof....so far. But I'd like to buy a VW/Audi Diagnostic Code Reader (GS200) for it 'cause I have a ECL that comes on every now and then. Where would the connector be? I heard it's under the steering column but I don't see it.

Thanks,
gcp

It seems no one knows the answer to my question above so, here's my first contribution around here. I was told by the dealer that the connector is under the back ashtray. Haven't checked it yet but I will this evening.

It can be in many places, check the fuse box, under stering column, right to the hand break, back ashtray. I really don't know if you have 2x2 or 16pin connector so just see anything it might be it. check also ross-tech they have some info.
hope it helps.

kakarot, I found out at the dealer that mine is a 2x2 and this connector is in the fuse box under the hood/driver's side. I will now buy the diagnostics scanner and hope to be able to read the car's condition. BTW do you know where I can find on the internet the code descriptions?

Thanks,

from vag-com. use the free version. in that program I think it will show all that stuff. You actually can flash out the codes.

http://www.troublecodes.net/audi/

as I inderstand you jump the L line and ground then with light bulb in cluster for check engine it will blick out the codes in sequence of 4 numbers each.

kakarot, I still need to investigate as to whether or not this particular VW/Audi scanner I am interested in will work. It seems that if on my 2x2 connectors I have 4 wires being utilized I'll have to get an extra cable but it'll work. If on the other hand only 3 of the 4 wires are utilized then this scanner will not work.

We should all love standardization!!
