1989 200turbo frt whl dr excellent running condition until of late when it started stalling on deceleration. Changed fuel decel valve, throttle switch, idle stabilizer control valve and idle electrical control unit, checked for vacuum leaks-none. Idles sweetly drives like glass but as soon as I decelerate from speed (accelerator lift-off-no brake) the car stalls and becomes a tank. Funnily enough I can restart the car and drive on as if nothing has happened until I decelerate again. Any ideas what could be happening or anyone recognize this problem. I miss driving my baby.

 

the fuel decel valve was a good call ... but theck the vacum hoses that run to it

just had the same problem,i took it to my guy to look at it and after 5 days there he told me it was the fuel distributer.this is the unit that sits next to your air intake with all the stainless steel braidd fuel lines going to it.it took me 3 weeks to find one for the car on ebay and i got it yesturday and my car runs like a champ agian,no stalling!!i changed everything you did with no luck and it was this fuel distributer all along.its a pain to get out and put in but you have to do it.you will also need a gasket thats dealer only so order that first it takes a week to get it,also there is on fuel distributer on ebay right now for 75.00 buy it now.thats a geat price,i paid 150.00.well good luck and let me know when you fix it.also the car drives alot better since the change also.good luck.
