Default 4000S

I am looking at getting an 85 4000S. Here are its issues. It is running really rich, as in it has a steady stream of light gray smoke out the tailpipe. It runs fine but it just wreaks of gasoling out the back. The other issue is even though it came up to temp the idle never dropped below 1500. My question is, Is there a way to adjust idle speed and mixture on an 85 1.8 4cyl? The only other thing is it seems like the gears in the transmission may not totally disengage, like when you are clutch in in first you hear a slight grinding, then you shift it into neutral and it still makes the noise until you let loose on the clutch it stops. Thanks for the thoughts.

Yes you can adjust the mixture all you need is a 3mm Alan wrench but you need to remove the tamperproof plug. Transmission problem is probably a bad pilot bearing, thrust bearing or even low oil level.
