RE: 5000/100 Power Steering Rack
I havent personally done one ... but i think it would be a somewhat of a big PITA .... i had to fix, remove and reinstall the wiring harness that runs next to the steering coulom and under the power steering rack ... so i got a close look at the rack ... it would take a lot of time for sure

RE: 5000/100 Power Steering Rack
I did it a couple of times and it's actually not that bad.
Remove the tie rod bolts - there are two on top of the steering rack then remove the bolts that secure the steering rack at each end, I think there is only two or three.
Remove the fluid hoses from the rack.
In the footwell remove the cover panel and you should be able to see the steering collumn. There is a spline and bracket with one bolt. Remove the bolt and the spline should seperate fairly easily.
Once you have the steering rack loose take off the right front wheel and you should see a hole which is just big enough to fit the rack through. This will take some twisting and turning of the rack but it does come out, there are some wires there that need to be moved out of the way. It may help to have someone help with this one.
it didn't take all that long, getting the tie rod bolts back in is the biggest PITA
hope this helps
