I am looking at a very clean 87 5000cs turbo w/automatic transmission. Non-Quattro of course.

The car looks and drives nice but not being an Audi guy (BMWs mostly in my past) I don't know what areas to check closely. Can anyone supply some tips and things to look for, especially the auto trans. Who makes it and is it a problem trans or fairly reliable. The car has 67K miles. Is it an interference engine?

Thanks for any help. Need to know fast.
