I recently purchased a 1984 Coupe GT. It had a few problems when i bought it(and most of them it still has), but that's why I got it for $500.

Anyway, a few of the problems/questions I have left to sort out are;

First, the speedo does not work, I have read-up on many threads and write-ups about this, but my main problem is, I'm not sure whether it is cable or electronic.

The next problem is that when I drive the car, it seems to have a misfire. i replaced the spark plugs, wires, cleaned the distributor contacts and replaced almost all of the vacuum lines. All these things have helped but it still has a mis-fire.

Rear drums, that's all I have to say. These things I have not cracked into yet, they are binding. I'm pretty sure they just need cleaning. Also, the sleeve on the passenger side e-Brake cable is rusted pretty tight, although I was able to break it loose i am replacing that as well.

Lastly, the front end on this car has got me wondering what happened? It definitely has the 83-84 front-end styling, however, it has single headlights. I've never seen another like it(on the internet of course) The manufacture date says november '83. I've also seen an '84 with dual headlights but with the '85 dash and interior. What gives? Why is there so much cross over.
