Did you lube them with a little RTV silicone before you tried to press them in? Let me dig out my Audi 5000 Bentley Manual and see if I can come up with a better solution.

I lubed 'em up real gud.

Hmmm.... The only thing the factory manual says to do them is use silicone lube on them. I suggested RTV because it's pretty darn slick for a while before it sets plus it seals the bushing hole in the subframe from moisture.. Dunno what to tell ya. I replaced the front bushings on my 5000Q subframe (almost identical to yours) but I have the rears that I'm going to replace once I get to that point of the restoration.

You are correct. I looked up the subframe bushings on my 5000Q. What is the part number for yours?

Man, that is a hard one to locate. The profile looks identical to the Audi 5000 subframe except the holes in the rubber part. I guess that's for a less sporty ride. I can't find any US vendors for this particular item....
