Default 86 5000 no start

hey everyone, my names Matt, and I've got a 86 5000 CS TQ and i can't hear the fuel pump, and need to know what fuse/relays to check because the box cover is gone. can anyone get me a picture of the fuse box tags for both the one under the hood and the one in the dash? thanx!

Default 15 amp

It's under the hood in the drivers side fuse panel. It's a normal sized blade fuse that sits on the side closest to the drivers side fender. There is a row of 21 blade fuses and it is #13 counting from the front bumper side. If it trips again check the wiring and don't just throw a 20 in there.

sorry, its been a while since i got back to the car to test things. first off: fuse is good, and the relay clicks. but every couple of key cycles the fuel pump relay will click on and off rapidly, and the check engine light flashes on and off with the rapid relay click, and still no pump. how can i test the pump its self to make sure its even good? i put some fresh gas in it( about 5 gallons of 91) and the gauge still reads E. and how does the pump come out of the tank? thanx guys!

Wow that would startle me if my car did that. First of all I would say your fuel pump relay is toast or on its way out is more accurate. When you insert a fuse into the top of it the check engine light will light up solid until fuse is removed. Sounds like it's the diagnostic routine is accidentally being shorted from inside the fuel pump relay causing the light show. Putting a fuse in the relay will also run the fuel pump but maybe not if that relay is busted. The relay can be CAREFULLY disassembled if you want to look at it. I would replace the relay first before testing the pump directly. I have 2 spares in my glovebox that came with the car. I don't even know if they work lol. Go here ( http://www.034motorsport.com/chassis-components-audi-urs4s6-c4-fuel-pump-relay-kit-p-18927.html) and download the directions. They show the wiring to the fuel pump very clearly and you can try jumping with a spare battery. Be certain of what you put power and ground to and run connected wires to the battery outside the trunk on the ground to prevent a fire. Pump is accessible from trunk just behind seat under carpeting. This is at your own risk though. Never drive car with fuse in that relay! Here's more on diagnostics here ( http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/ecuf.html). Sight has picture showing where relay is located under the hood. Good luck
