Default 86' gt coupe

i recently made the switch from a 92' golf to a 86' gt coupe. the fuel pump relay went in the first month and since looking for the problem, i noticed the rev limiter engages at 5000 rpm. this seems to low in the power band and i'm hoping someoe can tell me how to adjust or even disable it(i'm aware of the potential danger in this.)any advice would help...

I wish I could help with the problem, but I'm not very well aquanted with older Audi's. Anyway, do you have any pictures of your Golf? Was it a GTI? I'm a big fan of the A2 Golf/GTIs. 8v or 16v?

the easiest way, is to go stand alone.
You probably have rev limit that low becouse you have a CEL, so flash it out and tell us.
Go onto my website, first link, then go with the index page.

EDIT: woops I have for newer cars, but the principle the same. You probably have like 3 or 4 conectors.

you have a problem in the ECU and it probably could tell you if you flush out the codes.

another thing I thought is fuel presure, make sure that you get fuel presure up thre. hook up a gauge and see.
