Default 88 Audi 90 Quattro Wheel/Tire size ...

First off, is there a pinned thread I am missing on this topic?

So, temp tire solution.
Will a set of 235/60 14 fit without rubbing on this car? It is currently running 195/60 14 but the tires need to be replaced.

From my homework, it looks like I will not be going 17" wheels in the spring, but rather 15". I am thinking of 235/45 15 if they will fit, or something in the 205/50 15 size.

However, like I said, I need something for the winter and a friend from the local bimmer club has the above set I can have for a song if they will in fact fit. Not ideal, but at $100 for all for tires and they only 4300 km on them, I can't see it being a bad deal, unless they won't fit. It's a bummer that it doesn't appear that the mid 80's BMW rims won't mount on these hubs without adaptors. (have access to them really, really cheap).

Sincerely,
Scott

I'm not sure about the 90/80s specificially, but the CQ uses 205/60/15 stock. I think people use 225s fairly routinely without rubbing issues, but more than that I'm not sure.

Hey,

My audi 90 quattro has 205/40/17. You shouldn't put more than 215 on it I guess... Maybe 225 but that's really the max. I've had 205/55/16 on it and that didn't fit. If you wonder how my rims fit on the car, check http://picasaweb.google.nl/jjhjespers/90Q#

Greet,
Joris

nice car joris. I run now 215/65R15 on mine right now, 225 is the largest without new rims that can be used. Unless you race, stock 205/60R15 (my size) should be used for dally driving.

For AutoX I am gona get front 215-225/55 R15 and probably 185-195/55 R15 for the rear. I am not sure, I am still reading tire book, its freaking long.

I cannot bring my self to get 17" rims, I stick to stock

A rallyX shot, it was co driver driving, 193 is his number, mine was 93.
