Hello All,

I recently took my 2.0 Avant Automatic 100E in to the garage to have the idle control valve changed and they 'fudged' a repair. They said it wouldn't cause any problems but I have noticed a shudder (not a regular thing it varies in frequency) during idle and what feels like a judder at speed (again fells random when it happens).

There is also now a strong smell of oil/fumes around the car.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell what the pipes are for & what it will do......(the pipe going into the hole in the other one is under vacuum). [EDIT] - Have changed the picture to cricle the problem....

Thanks for any help guys. I love the car but it's more like a hobby than a car!
