Default Audi 200 10v quattro electircal problems

Hey guys
Ive been members of some good forums, and i got a new 1990 audi 200 10v turbo quattro today. It runs great but has a few problems, any ideas?
-Takes about 5-6 seconds of cranking to start, sometimes i have to pump the pedal.
-lots of lights dont work, rear windows dont roll down, radio lights up but doesnt turn on (red backlights work, no radio functions)
-clicking sounds at front left side of engine bay (small circle object with lines coming out)
-wheres a good list of performance mods

It's going to sound weird....but you will thank me on this one !

you MAY have to take the drivers door skin off (if you're good with your hands you may not)

Open the drivers door all the way and grab a seat on the ground, take your fingers and pry the boot for the wires away from the car side, next take the inner kickpanel (pc. covered in carpet on inside against same side) next you will find about 7 (I think, maybe 6) either red/green, or red/light blue wires going into the door, pull them and you will find that the wire connection they made when they built the car fell apart!!!!!!! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE THINKING WHEN THEY DID THAT....LOL they ran all the connections for the window power, sunroof and a bunch others into the door just a few inches after the door side (drivers door gets used everytime the car is, the rest don't the connection WILL break it's only a matter of time....lol)
Also, the cranking is one of two things, first vacuum leak this you can check rather easily if you don't have a vacuum tester to check you can use my backyard method : take a propane soldering tank and a pipe soldering end and turn the gas slightly, run the nozzle around all the hoses and connections where they meet, if the idle increases you have found the leak !....If you go over the hoses and find No leak, then your answers lie in a leak in your fuel system (probably return ) it will cause the car to loose fuel pressure and actually cause the fuel to retreat to the tank and cause you to crank for a long time untill it catches....QUESTION Start cold....long crank. Stop and start again always start fine and right away.....leave it for an hour and long crank again...right ?(return leak)...or does the car have to be left for long periods before it won't start correctly? (leaky injector)

NOISE, please describe WHERE the part is in the engine bay, by the engine bay underneath, attached to the fuel dist ...etc ?

MODS, get it running right first....lol, I'll tell you how to mod it after....

Good luck and let me know how you do !

to find vacum leaks you can use a can of brake parts cleaner instead of propane ... same thing (just get the non chlorine kind) ... spray if revs go up you got a vacum leak ...
inspect ALL the hoses first from the INSIDE too .... then i would check all the temp sensors for correct operation ... and then i would take the plugs out after about 30-45 mins of driving and check for fuel in the cylinders (leaky injectors)
yeah and get it running right before you mod anything
the electrical stuff do what crashnburn said and check the operation of the swithces ...

it's a prety fast car already if it runs right
good luck
