Sorry I cant help, but props for owning a 5000s, I love those cars. When you say loose power, is it just the lights or all power devices? Could be a relay.

Learn how to pull the codes and get a manual... You'd be amazed at how much you can learn from those two steps.

ummmmm the fan works fine, i dont loose power when it comes on. its just after like 10 to 15 minutes of driving. it looses power and the car turns off. in my dashboard it says that i am missing oil. when i checked the oil before turning the car on, its perfectly fine. it does it all the time. i think its an electrical problem but i dont know really.

yeah i agree, seems like an electrical. but the fact that it happens after the car has been running seems weird. i would think that it has something to do with a relay or sensor of some kind but i really dont know...i hate electrical problems...so hard to find. i would let the car just run. dont drive it or anything, just let it sit there. its possible that while your driving your shaking something loose. best of luck.

Had a similar if not exact problem with my 91 100Q. Sound like the hall sensor in the distributor is going, try a new or remanufactured one.

it could also be that the oil level sensor is bad. I am not sure about these cars, but on my friends merc, when the oil sensor went bad, it would take a bit for it to register, then it would kill the engine as a precaution.
