Audi Quattro....where are they?
Hi there, I'm new to the forum (as my post count will tell you
) .
I am interested in an 80's Audi Quattro Coupe and I saw only one for sale in about 20 different classifieds. And that one was on a rebuilt title
Are there that few available or am I not looking in the right spot?
Also, I assume that they go for about 20K, is that right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Martin

Sir.. good luck finding an UrQuattro in the US. I don't remember how many were imported, but those who have them don't want to loose them. You should be able to find an abundance of 1980's Audi 80's , and you can certainly find Coupe GT's around (but they're fwd). You could also do what I did and get a Type'89 coupe.
After I read this I decided to actually go look in stead of make conjecture. Guess what, You're in luck! There are a couple UrQuattros for sale. The one I linked is probably closest to you.

3k for an '83 UrQ! It will need some work. He's removed the engine, but it sounds like the suspension is in great shape, and he even has a 20vt from a 95 S6 you can swap into it for another 3k.
I don't know how adventurous you're feeling, but this would be an awesome project. If you need any help on it the people on motorgeek have done this kind of thing hundreds of times.

Thanks for researching that. I really prefer finding a whole car to be honest. I know how these things can turn out (I've had a few project cars before) and it's still a good 12 hours from me just to check that one out.
Either way, thank you for the heads up. Maybe I will source one from over seas
There seem to be a few complete ones there.

well if you're willing to source one from over-seas then you might as well just look at one of the complete UrQ's here in the states. I mentioned that one because it was closest and would be a cool project, but there were a couple other complete ones you could look in to if you're serious about importing one.
ya thier like the holy grail of old audis ive seen em and worked on them they had one in a junk yard here with just the wheels missin i could not get the jerk to sell it to me, have you looked at the history of the car at all its very facinating
Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately I'm going to have put this project on hold while the economy is in the pooper. And certainly, my current state of unemployment does me no good either.
