Default Brake warning light

the car in ? is my 87 Audi 5000 S Quattro. I have had a flashing red triangle with brake writen in it for the past year I have had the car. I have replaced th BOMB just recently as it was bad, and I thought that that would turn the light off. well it didnt. I have checked all sensors according to the Bentley manual and the frontbrakeshave good pad in them but the rotors do have a pronounced lip on the outer edge. I have disconected the pad wear sensorsand connected the 2 wires in the conectortogether with a jumper wire but to no avail. this is reall starting to annoy me as the car runs great and the brakes work really well. my euro mechanic says that everything is sound and to put a piece of tape over the light as it wil cost $$ to do th work tofigure it out andhe says the car isold enough and cheap enough to ignor this. but I dont like that Idea as everything else works fine and Ilove the car so if anybody has any Idea please let me know. oh the car only has 144,000 miles on it.

the brake system pressure sensor near the master cylinder ... have you checked that too .. there might bee other brake/hydraulic pressure sensors .. and also how is your power steering fluid (leaking maybe , level too low) and check on the caps of the power steering and grake fluid ... those things have some wires there and trip some lights some times ..

I have checked all the brake sensors according to the bentley manual. the hydraulic hoses going to the resorvoir dose have a weep but I doubt that that will cause the light to come on. I may go ahead and replacethe pressure switch on the master even though it tested good maybee it is gummed up or somthing. I will let you guys know after I chnge it.

if the light has been on for ever and ever you might also want to consider a wiring problem .. maybe someone while doing other repairs broke a connection some where
