Default Can't defrost my windshield

Ok so the car is still fairly new to me (b4 90) and I went to put the heat selector on defrost vents (defrost, vents, floor switch) and nothing happens. Even on floor it still just blows out the face vents. I can feel some tension and something moving when I turn it but still doesn't work. Is there vent somewhere that I can look at and maybe manually move????

Do you have climate control OR manual regulated heater?

what just happened here?
anyway hes got manual...that's why he feels resistance when switching. there are valves if you pull the vents covers (the part you see) off. the grates you will see some giant valves that you can move. maybe that will work. if not just start taking stuff apart...

yes its manual climate control. I ended up going behind the console of the pass footwell side and saw the rod that connected to the vent. pushed it all the way and now it but ended up breaking a part but now instead of being stuck on front vents, the switch can move it to defrost or feet so that is good enough for me.
