I'm driving an Audi CD100 1985. The engine will automatically stop after driving 30-40km. After waited for 10-15 minutes, then onlyi can restart the engine without any problem and it will stop again after driving 30-40km sometimes 60km or after 10km. It will become worst if driving short distance suchascity driving. My mechanics can't rectify this problem for quite sometime even though i have replaced the fuel pump. Please help.

 

well more info would be really helpful ... start lookin for vacum leaks ... check all of the temp swithces ... when it runs does it suddenly die or gradually get worse and then die

 

The engine will suddenly stop. I need to stop for 10-20 minutes then it will start again as though giving the car enough time to cool down. I'll check the vacuum leaks and the temperature swich as suggested. Thanks.

 

check for ground wires too ... kleen em up
