I think that the poll is rather unfair for comparison, the mpg on a 1.8L 4000 is going to be different then on 4.2L V8. My 91 100Q gets about 22 mpg during the winter and 26 mpg during the hot summer months.

My baby has got a serious fat butt... but she still whoops your 2.8

2.8l V6 A6 Wagon

20 City, 24 Highway

On time I drafted a bus from Oregon to Cali at 85 and got 28 miles per gallon though.

Here are a few possibilities for your poor gas miliage;

1) You are using cheap gas from the local "discount water fountain" try switching stations and use super or premium grades.
2) You are racing from red light to red light with two dead bodies in the trunk and five passengers cramped inside.
3) The engine is waaaay out of tune.
4) The transmission is about to spill its guts
5) All of the above.

1.I use regularry 89 octane Mobil1 during freizing and 93 octane during normal
2.I do not race usually I push no hire that 2400 RPM then its becomes really fast, In traffic usually no hier that 2000RPM
3.I really dont know if its out of tune, but its working fine has new platinum 4 bosch plugs new water pump, timing which is right on the spot where it should be.
4.I really suck in trannies, how do you determine if its sliping? it does shift kinda soft.
