I just picked up a '82 Audi Coupe for daily driver duties, and I guess it needs a new window regulator winder. The window slides up and down by hand, but the part that winds it up and down doesn't work. It just spins in circles making this awful grinding noise. The handle is not loose; I'm not that stupid. Before I take everything apart, I'd like to know what I am dealing with. Anybody else have this problem? I couldn't find a manual window lifter assembly anywhere I looked-- junkyards, eBay, and internet. The service book doesn't give a description. Is it fixable? Does the part I need exist somewhere in this world?
