Oil Scraper Rings

RE: Oil Scraper Rings
It is definitely not rocket science but we are talking a major teardown. Disconnecting everything, taking the engine out, taking the engine apart and then doing the reverse order. Not a DIY project if you are in a rush and have no clue what needs to be done. It took ma about three days with my 4000S and I had all the tools, engine lift, air impact, cylinder hone, ring compressor, bore gauge, etc. The parts will cost a few hundred bucks but if you let someone else do it then it will cost a couple of grand.

change all the rings not just the scrapers and why not change the big end bearings while your in there, not too expensive if you DIY and not that hard if your mechanically minded, choose to take it to the dealer and you might as well hand the ignition key in and ask them to stick a car on it lol

RE: Oil Scraper Rings
why do you need only oil scrapers. get all of them at ones.you can change the rings without taking the block out, only the head, slightly lifting the engine and taking out the oil pan then well, a mecha can take out the pistons replace the rings, and put it back. its easier, but takes almost same time.
when you replace the rings, you replace all of them. couse its dumb replacing each ring each time seperatly.
