Default 01 Audi A4 1.8 Transmission Problems.

Ok, so I've had this car for a month now and the transmission was working fine, all gears worked no problems, then it started to just jump out of gear and the notification screen in the gauge cluster would just go blank where the gear selection would be. Now it completely stopped working. Stay's in 3rd and isnt very smooth when changing from park to anything else (think this is called limp mode). Is the transmission control unit bad or could there be any other issues?

Well I work at one and I've done research and most signs say that the TCU is bad. Just seeing if anyone else has had this problem and it be something different. Just checking all my options before I go spend $200 on a TCU.

I think I have a transmission problem. at first it wasn't shifting very smooth. Now it seems it dropping in and out of 4th gear. Driving home today it was pulsing in 5th gear. I haven't seen any warning/flashing signs on the dash. It's still under warranty, thinking I should have it looked at right away. Should I take it to the Audi dealership and have it tested, then send the bill to the dealership where i purchased it? help.....

The main causes of the jump out from the gear is the loose shifter fork or loose shifting linkages.
The second thing u just asked that your gauge cluster had become blank so I think the problem occured due to the loose or worn out electrical wiring signal.
